What V-A prepares you for
V-A concerns mutual fund sales and distribution, scheme features, investor needs, operations and the regulatory setting. Begin with the official curriculum and identify how each chapter applies to a distributor’s day-to-day decisions.
Assessment and exam booking
The NISM assessment uses 100 one-mark questions over two hours. The pass score is 50% and there is no negative marking. Book through NISM; confirm the payable examination fee and available slot at booking rather than confusing a private training fee with the official fee.
Build a practical preparation routine
Read one topic, write a short explanation in your own words, then answer original practice questions. Keep an error log with three categories: concept, arithmetic and reading. Revisit errors after a gap instead of immediately memorising the answer.
Certificate and registration are separate
NISM issues the official certificate; provide the required PAN details. AMFI registration and applicable ARN, EUIN, documentation and empanelment steps remain separate. An academy attendance or completion document cannot replace them.
Validity and renewal
The NISM V-A FAQ specifies three-year validity and describes renewal through the examination or applicable Mutual Fund Distributors CPE before expiry. Check your eligibility and schedule with NISM and maintain your AMFI registration separately.
Considering SIF distribution?
Compare V-D’s additional derivatives coverage and the current MF/SIF registration pathway. SIFPrime Academy offers V-D preparation; this information page does not advertise a standalone V-A course.
